About Flic

August 5th, 2009

Felicity CrowtherFelicity Crowther is an 18 year old Roman Catholic who enjoys boxercise, snooker, and singing!  Her faith has been an important part of her life since she was in her early teens, mainly since she made her holy communion after returing to England from life in Switzerland. Flic has been involved in attending and running church youth and prayer groups and especially enjoys the challenge of organising fundraising events with groups of passionate people. She also loves retreat activities which she feels help put the  stresses of daily life into perspective. Inter-faith dialogue and discussion is so vital to our society today, but especially in terms of allowing young people to open their minds and broaden their experiences of other cultures and faiths.

Since being involved in Islam Awareness Week at her school, Notre Dame, in 2007, Flic developed a curiosity about different cultures and religions. She was honoured to have made a speech at a recent large ISB evening event, where representatives from many different religions gathered in solidarity.

Flic hopes by joining the United Faiths youth council will allow her to carry out God’s work in the world by letting her express the message of the Catholic church through action. This new challenge will also let her reach out to understand the path’s of others. She hopes that such work will hopefully show all young (and not so young!) people that with tolerance and understanding, we can fight prejudice and solve a great many problems.

It is useful to try everything in practice anyway and I like that here it’s always possible to find something new. :)
